Quote from: eamonn on Today at 02:26:22 PMBentancur reminds me of Hourihane a bit. A passenger in midfield off the ball but a good knack for scoring from deep.Think they mentioned on the commentary, it was his first goal in the 2025 calendar year. He's a player that has flattered to deceive, in my view. Weren't we in for him when we went to Spudz, now I think about it?

Cash with De Bruyne shit, Digne controlling the ball like Messi and Buendia finishing like R9. If I saw it on FIFA I’d be saying, “as if goals like that are ever scored in real life”. Brilliant away performance. And I'm second. Though I think I should be first as you're hedging it with 'one of the best'.Quote from: Hopadop on October 19, 2025, 05:13:29 PMQuote from: Jane on October 19, 2025, 04:20:25 PMQuote from: kippaxvilla2 on October 19, 2025, 04:12:32 PMUnlucky because spurs would’ve got 2nd today with a win.I never knew that. Sad face.Wait! That would've been a London top two for good measure. You'd think some would've mentioned it.Really strange game for me. Thought we both massively rode our luck (if they'd had Kane or even Son...) and thoroughly deserved it.Pau superb and Cash shoving the boos where they belong. Digne took a battering, so delighted he was able to do that before going off. I'm probably still a bit giddy, but that might be the best Villa goal I've been there for. I've been a very erratic attendee but still.

OK, i’ve had 24 hours to think about it and I’m now calling itI’ve been watching Villa live since 1975 and I reckon little Emi’s goal yesterday is one of the best if not the best I’ve ever seen Villa scoreIt had so many facets to it It was football perfection. The ridiculous ball from Cash is an unbelievable bit of skill on its own, then the takedown from Digne is prime Bergkamp then the superb little flick, the execution from Buendia is pinpoint accurate and from outside the boxYou might not see anything as good as that again as long as you liveIf someone made a football film and put that sequence in everyone would say nah that could never happen in real life it’s unrealisticI think we might have just seen the best goal we’ll ever see.
Never read through the whole thread but happy to defer first dibs to you two like minds

I need this!I don't think anyone realised just how *special* it was. I thought Cash was under a fair bit of pressure and could see him stuffing up the back pass or slicing a clearance. So it went from Oh shit to hang on to fuck me very quickly.

A lot of spurs fans sound like they hate Bentancur more than they do Cashski.

I'd say it was better than what I had filed away as the best I'd ever seen, Tony Morley at Everton in 81.
