All our lads ball-watched as he made himself available for his goal yesterday.
Without the deflection off Onana, it looked like it was heading straight to Martínez so they had enough good fortune yesterday without claiming we were lucky.

Our two wide men were more at fault for me. Guessand put no pressure on the cross going in to start with and Rogers is big and bold enough to deal with that ball in the air. Once it comes back towards the penalty spot it usually favours the attacker..

Disgraceful challenge that - booked him. How there was not VAR red card check is beyond me

I thought that at first. Watched it again and you can see he just plays the ball normally as he’s entitled to. Digne mistimed his attempted kick and there is a clash. Nothing wrong whatsoever.

I’ve been watching Villa live since 1975 and I reckon little Emi’s goal yesterday is one of the best if not the best I’ve ever seen Villa score
It had so many facets to it It was football perfection.

The ridiculous ball from Cash is an unbelievable bit of skill on its own, then the takedown from Digne is prime Bergkamp then the superb little flick, the execution from Buendia is pinpoint accurate and from outside the box
You might not see anything as good as that again as long as you live

If someone made a football film and put that sequence in everyone would say nah that could never happen in real life it’s unrealistic

Really strange game for me. Thought we both massively rode our luck (if they'd had Kane or even Son...) and thoroughly deserved it.

Pau superb and Cash shoving the boos where they belong. Digne took a battering, so delighted he was able to do that before going off.  I'm probably still a bit giddy, but that might be the best Villa goal I've been there for. I've been a very erratic attendee but still.
