Yeah, that was an old style Emery away performance. Get to half time, turn the crowd, win the game. Felt we'd win when we got to half time level.

Barkley looked good when he came on too. He was doing that for a while before his injury and didn't get much credit for it. Squad's looking stronger. Still concerned about the right side of attack though.

The second goal is potential goal of the season.

Agree on Barkley, great little cameo doing a lot of unseen work. I think the big difference between the teams was that our subs strengthed us, their were all a step down from the players they replaced, Richarlison and Bergvall in particular were utter dross.

Agree with this. Our bench today was about as strong as it's ever been.

Just looking forward to Fleet Street's finest devoting most of their match reports focussing on Spud's deficiencies, rather than how well we played - as per usual.

I had a feeling for us today. Spurs have been over-hyped (same as it ever was), been pretty average at home, they had outscored their xG and were reliant on set-pieces.

We just needed to maintain our form since before the international break and Unai, working hard, with the lights likely still on til 2am at Bodymoor on midweek nights when his squad were spread across the world representing their nations, delivered another master-class.

Great result, especially going into the next two league games. And we shouldn't fear Man Citeh or Liverpool, they're not without their flaws too. Autumn 2025 = Autumn 2023 !

The good ship Villa has been turned around and steaming full speed ahead.

Where does it dock?!

Istanbul.

The Premier League's commentator was saying that Frank would be unhappy with a draw, let alone a loss, given Spurs' dominance. I mean, really?

Brilliant win, 2 great goals, Unai safe from the chop until the next international break.

We still need to create more, as great as it is we can't keep relying on a couple of outside the area crackers. Once we do that we'll be a hell of of a side.

Great result and just what we needed.  Two real qualith goals and thought we kept Spurs under wraps pretty well.

Still think we gave the ball away far too often and cheaply at times and it's tantalising to think just what we could be capable of if we really click in the final third.

A quick look on their forum and a lot of them seem shocked they didn’t wipe the floor with us - like we haven’t finished above them in the league for the past 3 seasons.

Re cyclical fashion and long-throws being back in, is there any reason why the defending team don't just stick a player a yard or two in front of the touchline and put the thrower off?

Ted Danson was getting some joy with his launchpads today for Spuds but I think it's illegal to allow one team to towel-dry their balls while the away side has to be left with damp, smudgy balls.
