Did he actually rescind the booking for the Watkins foul and, if so, is he allowed to so that?

That's the weird thing, he did rescind it, then he booked him again, that's what confused people.

Yes it was as if he thought he’d given him a red card at first and was rescinding that!

I think it was just the funny hand gestures that Sam mentions.

I watched the highlights again this morning, and it looks like he goes to the screen and then performatively tries to show "look, I've seen it again and I'm now waving this yellow card around to show everyone that it's still yellow, not more than that or less than that, both of which could have been possible outcomes of me seeing it again".

All the while thinking that he hasn't really been given the tools to clearly communicate it, given normally you're showing what you've changed your decision to in those circumstances.

Maybe but he definitely did the cancelled thing (crossing his hands in front of himself) and then pulled out the yellow card again before pointing at it. Then he went and explained it to McGinn whilst he was still fiddling about with his cards and seemed to be considering showing it again.

I get what you mean though, I think the whole thing was just a mess really and the guy desperately needs to be spoken to about how to communicate this better.

Great win. Its always pleasing when
.- you win despite not playing well
- away from home
- clean sheet

Some utterly  embarrassing  referring mind you but we seem to be getting better. I thought bizot buendia and kamara pau were excellent

If we can get a win at union we are in a good position

Fantastic night with awesome support.

The downsides were being kept waiting so long before and after the match and being pissed on by our own supporters!

Wait. What?

Villa supporters held back and tightly packed  behind locked gates on ground floor waiting for the train. The intelligentsia then decided it would be great fun to piss on them from the top of the stand (4 floors)

The hold back wasn't too bad. Getting in was a fucking joke.

I never saw any of that. The real mess was getting through the ticket barriers after getting off the train and the crush and waiting were awful. We were kept in afterwards but in a reasonably spacious area with toilets so not as bad as it could be. We were back in a bar at 12:15 and the locals were extremely friendly and complimentary.

A truly brilliant away trip of 36 hours and a lucky ground for us. We should play our home games v Manyoo there.

Only negative was the beer being launched during the goals. Pissing it down in Rotterdam tonight so the jacket has a faint whiff of ale.

Felt the fanzone was well done. Lots of bars down there by the Cubes, food and a good atmosphere. Speaking to Bladen before and he was saying that the police are quite complimentary about us. We'll drink you dry but not an issue

Is Baden still working - I thought he was due to retire in the summer?

As you say the fan zone was excellent with easy access to bars and toilets.

Rotterdam had shite weather today but a small price to pay for a great trip non Eurostar back now after a brilliant adios meal in Sijl bar with friendly locals. More trips like this please.

The pissing on our supporters was the worst bit for me although there was a huge scrum after second goal and poor old bloke behind me got knocked over and v bad leg injury.

Fan zone was so good I got off there again on way back to a very friendly welcome albeit a different clientele.

Almost home now after a day in The Hague!
