Who is Michael Angelakis?

A malaise, heckling.

Is that a genuine anagram of his name? Outstanding work if so.

The media spin today i.e the Beeb and "Crookesy" on Talksport, has all been about fallouts and a key ally leaving Emery's future in doubt. All based on their lazy assumptions.

Shouldn't they have their ear on the ground and have known this fella - another Emery associate, was being lined-up?

The first thing this guy needs to do is to look at the recall options of some of the loan players.  Ocsan and Ned for a start off.

Who is Michael Angelakis?

The boss at Atairos. Formerly a Comcast capo/underboss.

He cooks a mean moussaka when they go to the mattresses.
Wasn't he the Democrats nominee for US President a long time ago?

Does that mean we might be in for Oyarzabal in January?

Good golfer back in the day, but I'm not sure where he'd fit in the team.

Didn't Cashy swing an imaginary club during his slightly embarrassing drawn-out goal celebration at Roker last Sunday? As soon as he made the Gareth Bale-esque heart emoji to the camera, I knew we had tempted fate and our goose was cooked.

You shouldn't have mentioned that Cashy is a golfer, SE might take a dislike to him.

Chat GPT says..

Key Points

Roberto Olabe is introduced as the new President of Football at Aston Villa.

He speaks about his vision for the club, emphasising long-term strategic growth and developing the club’s football operations.

Olabe states his goal is to make the team “proactive” in the way it operates — likely referring to recruitment, play style and organisational culture.

He touches on the importance of continuity and stability, signalling that he sees his role as building a lasting structure rather than short-term fixes.

There is also mention of working closely with the existing managerial and sporting staff at Aston Villa to deliver on the club’s ambitions.

Tone & Impressions

The tone is positive and forward-looking: Olabe appears enthusiastic about the opportunity.

The messaging emphasises partnership and collaboration within the club, rather than individual heroics.

There’s a clear statement of ambition: the club wants to evolve and improve systematically.

What This Means For Aston Villa

With Roberto Olabe in the role, the club appears to be placing more emphasis on the executive management of football operations — aligning recruitment, academy, first team and broader club strategy under one leadership.

Fans and stakeholders can likely expect more structured planning around signings, youth development and perhaps more investment in the infrastructure of the club.

The introduction of a “President of Football” role may signal that the club is positioning itself to compete at higher levels (domestic and European) over the medium to long term.

It’s a link to a 20 minute video which I can’t be arsed with so a summary that I can read in a faction of that suits me.
