Emery should have brought on Sancho at half time & gone at Sunderland. Instead he played as if it was 11 v 11 & we paid the price. Luckily their keeper threw us a goal. But Watkins should have scored.

If Watkins & Rogers think they'll make it to the World Cup next summer, they need to think again.

How in fucks name do they score from this?

It's a long way from that beautiful photo of all our defenders being in line and in sync.

We don’t looked well coached at the moment.

Embarrassing that a hopeful if creative looping header completely takes our our entire defence, the thick fucks.

The header was the only real moment of quality from Sunderland. If a Villa player had done the same we'd all be screaming at the beauty and intelligence of the header whilst fucking furious with Watkins shooting straight at the keeper.

Just the 6 x defenders + Martinez in our box v their one forward who scores. I had blamed Konsa initially, still think he's ball watching, but none of that matters if Mings steps out with the rest of them. We have Watkins and Buendia standing up to admire Xhaka on the first ball too.

The header they put off the crossbar was equally as bad with Martinez getting in the act dropping a cross in the middle of it.

The first decent forward line we come across is going to hammer us if we defend like that. I don't think we have defended well this season despite what the goals conceded column tells us.

Yea Id agree with this. We’ve played teams with limited attacking threat so far and even then Martinez earned us the points at Everton. There is so much wrong with that goal, the three around Xhaka just standing watching, giving him all the time in the world. Konsa and Cash between them getting done by the header, Mings seemingly not paying any attention at all to his position in relation to the forward or the rest of his team mates.
The whole shape of the team needs changing starting at the back. As things stand, with this squad, Torres and Mastsen have to be starting with Digne and Mings used to shore things up from winning positions , rather than us starting out not to lose.

Totally disorganized defense structure, this doesn't need any coaching any body that's played the game at a decent level, as i'm sure many have on here, will absolutely know on auto what you have to do, Mcginn for a start should be standing in/on Xhaka boots, that tight, the ball is aloft its out the game, Watkins should be at Xhaka back so he can't go any further back, Xhaka is out of it, no goal, the back line should instantly be moving forward at pace pressing them back aggressively, it really is school boy stuff.

Also have to say I thought Emery's comments about laziness, true as it, is very very dangerous calling players out in front the camera, some players will shrug it off others will wait to the next game to show how they feel about that. Not good.

Also, for you football nerds, a sighting of the lesser spotted Barkley before he vanished from existence at Aston Villa.

That stint at relegated Luton was an outlier in Rosco's career, second half of it anyway.

Pau would have been just as gormless as Mings in not stepping up to catch the goalscorer offside.

Not sure about that, generally his position is good. It’s also one of Mings weaker areas.
