I thought Cash was fine today, penalty aside. And even then, it was more "good save" than "bad miss". He always gives his all and I never dislike any Villa player who does that.

Im an outlier here, whilst it wasn’t great and its shit to go out, I think there were some green shoots. I thought defensively we looked fairly sound and Konsa in particular was largely very good. I think Bogarde had a good game as did McGinn apart from the pen. I also thought Rogers looked lively for the first time in ages when he came on. I think Elliot and Sancho will add something, especially if Sancho and Maatsen can build an understanding.
Downside Guessand looks way off it at the moment and Malen doesnt look good enough with no where near the effort required.
Im with RamboandBruno - I feel better after that game then before despite being massively disapointed and Im glass half empty at the best of times.  I'll give Guessand and Malen a pass - as the first is new and we have seen better from the second.  We cant buy a win at the second - but thats the way sometimes.  Wegner, Ferguson etc all had periods like that.  Im sure well sort it.

I also thought Cash was fine. He's limited but does ok.

My biggest frustration is our set pieces they seem to have gone to shite.  Does McPhee even get up for them anymore

No positives to be taken from that.

Cash has become a player I am starting to dislike.
If he put as much energy in playing forward passes as he does hoiking the leg of his fucking shorts up, he’d be a world beater.

You're starting to "dislike" one of our players? FFS. I know it's a bit shit atm but Cash is the one that you call out?
Yes, I’m starting to dislike him.
He has let us down more than any other player recently and the quality of his ‘attacking’ play is fucking rubbish.

More than *any* player recently!?? Dear Lord. (I remember now why I avoid the match threads)
This is ‘post match’.

She just said she avoids the match threads

Pinnochio's boast that he wants to win a trophy here coming good again.

Is there really any need for that if you are actually a Villa fan?

Well he very clearly is a SHA troll. Why is he allowed to carry on winding Villa fans up with impunity. Other wind up merchants from other clubs get banned.

Better side, looked to carry more threat, particularly in the second half; Sancho, Cash and Rogers should all score. Nice to look at bit more lively than we have done all season.

Sancho positioning I think at times blended too much with the lines Maatsen wanted to pick. Some rustiness there. Guessand needed to be a bit more direct at times, although he was usually surrounded. The one time he did break clear he put the ball across for Sancho.

Defensively sound, save for the midfield not reacting to the Stoke impression. Good finish from Hickey, but he tries it 999 times again and he's more likely to pick Turkish Airlines going overhead.

Meh with penalties. Wasn't hugely fussed going to the game, desperately wanted a bit more attacking threat and we got that.

Rogers shoulders, the pair of them, are strapped with a tonne of kinesiology tape.

The problem is that he’s still our starting right back and that fault lies elsewhere.

Penalty shootout record vs teams not from London: played 7, won 7.

Penalty shootout record vs teams from London: played 4, lost 4*.

* one subsequently annulled.

We only took four. We might never know if he was due to take one.

Maatsen appeared to be the other one in the group who UE was talking to at the final whistle, all the others took pens.

At least Sancho looked like he has a good touch, and can hold on to the ball. Guessard's touch was awful all game
