Malen’s first touch is terrible

And there is no second touch, because after the shit first one, he stands there staring into space.

Sorry to do this straight after a goal, but Guessand...I will be amazed if he makes it as a top level Premier League player. The technique is just not there and I've seen it in him every game. I know it's early, but I absolutely do not fancy him to do it.

Far to early to write him off
But he is rubbish

Half time.

I must say, Bogarde has been very impressive.
Maatsen has been decent.
Sancho hasn’t been wasteful

Malen and Guessard, I think Malen just shades it for being the crappest of the two, but it’s close.

Haha.  Made me laugh.

First 40 mins absolute toss. Again.  Let's see if the goal (!) makes a difference to the overall confidence levels.

Hear me out now lads, maybe we could do... TWO GOALS?

Slow down! Lets see if we can at least do a good set piece first 😉

We were better that half than we have been so far this season without quite clicking but the goal is huge and will help us a lot. McGinn and Bogarde have been very good.

I think Guessand running with it is the only thing that has got us up the pitch.

Now if we could have a goalkeeper throw one in every game, we might win a cup and not get relegated.

That's just what we needed.

Impressed with Elliot, tracking right back just before HT.

Guessand looks like a baby giraffe, all legs, toppling over and a terrible touch.

Marlon poor, Sancho meh.

We haven't been bad but just nothing in that final third. Hopefully we have that bit of confidence now.

Judging this first half, you'd say Brentford deserve to be 1-0 up, but McGinn gets a great block in and Harvey Elliott gets his strike in.

Finally, all the jokes can stop now. Villa have got a goal!

Surely 0-0.
