I think Unai has lost confidence and it’s translating through. We desperately need a goal to start getting belief back.

I’m starting to think that too. We used to play much more on the front foot. Now it’s all very timid and passive. I’m starting to dislike watching us right now

We have been at our best under Unai when we’ve attacked.

It's nothing like the first two years of Emery were.

I think Unai has lost confidence and it’s translating through. We desperately need a goal to start getting belief back.

He's said in press conferences recently the main aim is to get to half time at 0-0 and then try to step things up in second halves.

Not much good if you're conceding early though like v Brentford and Palace and then having to chase a game.

Why the mindset has changed so much from what we were doing in 2023 only he can answer. I could understand it more in November/December when we're deep with european games but we've just started the season with most players having a good break.

The only positive so far is they can't finish.

It's nothing like the first two years of Emery were.

2023 was just amazing really when you look at the results and performances. That home game v Man. City was the peak of what Emery management can produce in a 90 minutes. Also had games like 6-1 v Brighton when we were 3-0 up in 25 minutes.

That all seems like 20 years ago and I find it hard to think we can reach those same heights again without major squad surgery.

Slow and a bit more slow, and back and some more slow and a little slow again. Evolve the tactics man. When Glasner kept saying everyone knows how Emery plays then it should be a signal to tweak the system a touch.

The aim should be to 3 up and coasting at half time.

We have been at our best under Unai when we’ve attacked.

Indeed. This defensive mode of ours isn't even that, we get opened up all too regularly, even by such things as simple long balls.
