I don't understand the line-up. I can't help but shake the feeling that the Emery of 2023 would not have selected that team. Why the defensive turn?

It's pretty much what I'd have gone for.

Why wouldn’t you have gone with Elliott?

I'd have gone with Buendia, as he finished the game against Palace well. Bring Elliott on second half if it isn't working.

It’s a conservative line up to stop them from playing, keep it tight and hit on the counter or win it late on. It’s not a go for it line up for a team that needs to go for it. Scoring a goal will be useful.

Yeah which is great until we concede a goal with Evertons very first attack and then they sit back and we cant break them down and then they score again.

Could we just once really go for it and then sit back and counter? We certainly have better players than most teams we just don't utilise them.

I can’t help thinking that Malen and Guessand will turn out to be expensive mistakes.

It’s harsh on him, but when I see Buendia in the squad, let alone first 11, I can’t help but sigh.  Kamara still out.  Again, sigh.

Anyway, cmon Villa.

The only thing I can say about that line up is that Buendia is their nemesis.

7 players from Emerys first game three years ago in the starting line up.  Something about that is not right.

What we desperately need is an early goal.

Hopefully Bogarde's more conservative positioning will free Tielemans up a bit.

Keep it tight & bring on the subs to win the game.
Or
Everton score from their first attack & we spend 80 mins of possession football.

It's interesting that he seems to have lost faith with Torres.

Buendia earned a start with his pre season performances. Let's give him a chance. Go for it little Emi.

It’s called our transfer activity.

No pace to hit them on the counter so expect we will try and dominate possession, if we don’t control the game it could be a long afternoon.

Can anyone assist with where a person might take a gander at the game please?
