The winger can spend 90% of the game sat on the grass making daisy chains for all I care, as long as he does the business.

1 goal and one assist was it......hardly doing the business all for nearly£200k per week

Just to be clear I’m not arguing for him as a player, rather suggesting insinuating stuff about his wider character is a bit much.

If Unai was going to fix him he'd have done it in the 9 months Sancho was with us.

There's maybe some here that think Coutinho could do a job for us! It's a brave/foolish PL team that gives Sancho another gig, hasn't the physicality required despite all his talent. We were desperate last summer by deadline day but even then it's hard to see what logic Emery/Monchi were using to think Sancho would be a success.

I've said before that you can see why clubs try him as the talent is there, but you also see why no PL clubs want to keep him.

I'd be hugely underwhelmed if we had him in the squad again next season.  Like other have said, if he wed going to be rehabilitated, it would've happened already.  For a contrast, Rashford was pretty good from the start of his short spell with us.

He was coming off a 'failure' of a season where he got 5goals and 10assists, is it really that hard to see that they were thinking similar numbers for us would be useful?

Age old tactical problem, we don't play with wingers so Sancho was never going to work with us. Particularly a one paced, lightweight and frankly gutless winger. We needed, and still need, competition for McGinn and to replace Ramsey, Sancho was never going to be the answer. We also already bombed Bailey so it beggared belief to bring Sancho in instead, especially on the terms agreed with Man United.

Whatever deal Chelsea offered Sancho he should have taken, he was a better tactical fit there under Maresca. Back to Germany I guess or maybe Italy for his next gig.

We don't play wingers, except for  22 appearances by Bailey, 21 from Guessand and 39 from Sancho (and with a handful where Maatsen played in front of Digne).

And reports that we are specifically looking to recruit a winger this summer.

Sancho is definitely the type of player we need around any future celebrations we may be planning.

How did they go? All disasters - add Zaniolo, Philogene, Elliot I guess to the list of winger flops, Malen whenever he tried playing on wing was hopeless too. The only winger I recall thriving under Emery was Bailey for a single season.

Sancho was the worst of the lot, followed by Guessand who looked like a competition winner.

Should be prioritising quality to finally replace Ramsey and compete with McGinn in our tactical setup.

Are you really this confused?

"We don't play wingers"
"Yes we do, here's evidence of all the times we played with wingers last season"
"They weren't very good though so it's doesn't count"

Yes, you're right that they haven't played well, that's why they're leaving and we're looking at new options (including a young Brazilian winger we signed 6 months ago). We clearly do play wingers and Emery clearly wants to carry on playing with at least 1 fairly traditional winger going forward, he just hasn't quite found the right balance of positional discipline, offensive threat. ball retention and defensive responsibility he needs. All of the players we've tried have done ok at parts of that at least at times but the closest we've been to getting it right was Rashford for a few months, Bailey for most of a season and Rogers for big parts of his first year with us.

Oh and on the last bit, Elliott was clearly supposed to be that player to compete with McGinn and not a winger as you've tried to mark him and Rogers and Buendia have already replaced what Ramsey gave us. Adding depth, sure, we all agree, but Ramsey wouldn't get into our team so I'm not sure why you'd pick him as a key player we have failed to repalce.
