Unai Emery insists Sunderland's late quick-fire double against #AVFC was not Jadon Sancho's fault.

"We are going to analyse and find solutions for mistakes. I am always taking responsibility for the mistakes, not the players."

Unai out.

I think Sancho played himself out of a contract with today's performance

I don’t necessarily think that’s the case. He’s had a bad few minutes. He’d been quite good for a few weeks up until his injury. I don’t think he’s worth a stupid contract but today shouldn’t suddenly discount everything before it

I reckon that the lack of goals, assists and getting stuck in throughout the season are what will do him out of a contract with us. I'd rather have Guessand.

For all of his recent improvement, his propensity to surrender the ball so easily has been an accident waiting to happen.

Love that man! Loyal to his players in public.

i noticed he went straight down down the tunnel at the end of the game , looking pretty despondent.  The subs for this game were a bit hit and miss for us .  Sunderland  are a physical team probably not the best  choice for Sancho really

He's tried to compensate for the first and instead compounded it. He wasn't trying to be shit so I have sympathy, but we'll be investing those wages elsewhere as if nothing else our options will be wider with Champions League football and if there's a God it will be Rashford earning them.

Or our JJ. He must feel the toxicity on Tyneside at the moment.

I am a fair man however I do not want to see him in a Villa shirt again this season or any other season after his part in the two Sunderland goals.

I am with you, he has proved multiple times that he can not be trusted with the football.

Sancho was off the pitch pretty sharpish ,maybe even before Unai. He owes Tammy and Emi a drink tonight. If we'd have drawn or lost that game it would have been  a long way back for him. Even with that reprieve  I'm not in a hurry to see him play again.
That said , the way football works , I wouldn't be surprised if him or Leon scored the winner in Istanbul ( if we get there !)

On balance his general tidiness and overall good attitude had outweighed the shirked tackles and cheap turnovers for me. The more significant weakness, from a technical standpoint, is the lack of goals and assists - he should be on a par with Buendia, for example, but is miles off. Today’s contribution consisted only of shirked tackles and cheap turnovers, which makes any right minded fan fume. If that’s the end of the road for him with us, then at least he will know why!
