But he's doing a job, holding possession and being cuter with his passing than Bailey for example.

Nowhere near the Bailey of 23/24. That version of Bailey whether starting or off the bench was outstanding.

Weird thing to point out as if Bailey of today was even half the player of 23/24, we would still be clamouring for him to be a starter.

ManU have another year option. Which they are highly unlikely to trigger!

Didn’t realise that.
In the media I’ve seen it just says he’s out of contract and, more recently, he’d take a drop in salary to join Dortmund

He is out of contract. Man Utd have the option to pay him another £15m for another season, which they aren't, and never were going to.

So he'll sign for whichever sweet spot of "lots of money" and "potential sporting achievement" feels right in his head between now and the summer.

He’s a smart player and his defensive game has improved vastly over the season [...]
There’s still the bottling tackles thing; but while annoying, it’s not a deal breaker for me personally.

Yeah, as long as he's diligent in the 'team' defensive structure (closing down the left back when opposition have possession, dropping back to add the 2nd body with Cash when opposition swing it out that side) then it's not too unusual to carry a forward who isn't the strongest in a tackle.

However, IMO it only works as long as McGinn is on the other side - his robustness offsets Sancho. It would be a worry of both Bailey and Sancho were in the team, for example.

No for me - he needs to go back to Dortmund, the one place he has done very well.

No thanks. We've signed too many players on the back of 3 or 4 good performances only for them to turn shite again.

It’s true that things didn’t work out with Coutinho and others, and you may well be right about Sancho. But in fairness, it’s a bit more than 3 or 4 games, for Sancho, surely?

It’s the steady improvement that encourages a favourable view of Sancho I think. Still time for it to tail off or go really well.

And that's it for me z as time goes on he progresses, clearly doing what's asked of him.

As part of this team I think he can thrive, and importantly he seems happy. He needs a McGinn in the team with him though.

I'm gonna try it another way. Picture our attack this season without Sancho in it.

At the moment it's a no, but if he plays well and continues to improve, then I'm happy to go with Unai's decision.

What we need to factor in is Sancho on 200k a week over 3 years is 30m on the balance sheet.
If we could sign a player as good as him for say 20m, you can only pay them just under 70k before Sancho becomes a financially better signing.

I’d be tempted to sign for the right terms, but probably not 200k a week mind!

I don't think there's any suggestion that we (or anybody else) would be giving him £200k per week is there?

200k a week on a free would be around what we'd pay in fee and wages on Guessand for 4 years as an example. He's not going to signing for 100k a week for anyone.
