I would love Bowen at Villa, gives his all every game, just the sort of winger we need.

Thought he was one of the best players in the first half.

He was but didn't want to know after the break. Not remotely acceptable.

I like Bowen but this hankering after him feels a bit like winning the lottery and buying a top of the range Ford Focus.

I didn't think he was bad at all, he looks after the ball very well but as my match companion pointed out, he knows he hasn't got the pace or power to get past a modern full back to create stuff, so has to wait for runners from around him. If you could get him on a £100k a week, 4 year contract then it would be worth considering, but I dont think that would be possible. So, for what he brings to the table, there will be be more prudent options available.

He did play well first half but I did think Bailey have them more to worry about because he’s always looking to take a player on

£20m total cost. The really perverse thing is, at that massive grotesque cost, its almost certainly not going to happen as its not enough.

Shite. Over the course of the game doesn't pose enough problems to his opponents. This position is an ongoing problem now and an easy position for us to look to improve for next season. A decent wide player and a centre forward and we'll be in a healthy state again next year.

It's early days, but I thought Alysson seemed to be better suited to the EPL and the way we play than both Sancho and Bailey. If you look at the teams UE plays, he does not seem to favour an out-and-out winger, preferring a more physical and versatile player (if he wanted out-and-out wingers I think we'd have had Kadan Young in the squad, and possibly Ben Broggio, rather than being loaned out).
Rogers is the obvious exemplar (and Diaby was also a version of what EU wants as a 'wide' player - someone who doesn't always play wide). He tried it with Guessand, he's now got Alysson. That is the way we'll go, I'm guessing - and, yes, if we had Bowen he would fit the archetype perfectly. Jimoh-Aloba might also fit the model of 'winger' in Emeryworld.
