He's decent but if we can't find another decent player somewhere at a more modest wage, you have to wonder what our scouts are doing.

Didn't Chelsea have a obligation to buy clause? They paid Manchester United several millions to get out of it.

First goal v Fenerbahce, first assist v Bournemouth, couple of reasonable performances in between. Maybe going to show us all some of his quality v Brighton.

Sancho is a wastrel, a charlatan stealing a living off a reputation earned of the back of a couple of good seasons from years ago in an inferior league.

Add to this excellent summation i am so pissed off with the half arsed attempts he makes in challenges - i appreciate he is not a bruiser to go diving into blood and thunder tackles but he bottles even 60/40 in his favour clashes as he is so lightweight.

I really hope come the summer we can look at a better return for our money - and certainly not anywhere near his current ridiculous wages.

Maybe we can get a glimpse of the lesser spotted Allyson  ::)

Honestly thought he was excellent first half, easily his best performance for us by some margin. The link up play with Rogers for the goal is representative of how good he can be, hopefully a sign of things to come. He's been much better these past 5 or so games, showing little bits here and their and we'll need that in the run in.

Having said that, even if he maintains that for the next 3/4 months, I don't think we should be the ones to offer him a contract in the summer. Even with a wage cut to 170-200k, half a season here and there of good play over the past few years just isn't good enough.

He is looking better than previously but we've been here before, someone plays great, we give them a contract and they then play shite - Come June we should say thanks and bye bye

Some clubs seem to be able to find players who can hypnotise defenders by thought process into just standing still and ghosting past them.
I wish we could find one of those.

There was a black lad with a strong head of hair playing for Palace yesterday, made a lovely assist for the winner.

He's definitely a good player. He was one of the stand out players in Bundesliga for about three seasons. It was a long time ago, but he's still in there and we're all starting to see the little signs it may be coming out. Absolutely persevere with him on the right until the end of the season and see where it leads.

He looks pretty happy here and in my eyes he wants it. Think he would take the pay drop in all honesty (he'll have to take some form as no one is matching his Man United contract). If he doesn't do enough then so be it.

He wouldn't  take a pay drop to join chelsea. Absolutely  no chance he is dropping his wages.

Who is paying him £250k per week next season then?

Saudi Arabia clubs
Dortmund
Spurs?

Thats just three on top of my head

Neither Spurs or Dortmund currently pay any of their players close to that, and I don't see what's so special about Sancho for them to make an exception.

Unfortunately Saudis are not the same mugg-able idiots  that they were a few years ago. Spurs don't pay that sort of wages and he has no potential so Dortmund won't be interested this time.

There's no way Dortmund are having him back again. He didn't do that well when he returned on loan before. Really hard to see where he goes after this season.

When i watch good players i've never heard of before I wonder what our recruitment department are doing all day.

Rogers?

Rogers was an Unai spot. Nothing to do with our recruitment department other than the paperwork.

As for Sancho, in the last three games he's gone from:

1. He's shit
2. Okay he's not shit
3. Okay, he's a footballer

Before I get too excited on a very decent 45 minutes against Bournemouth I should point out up until the game before last he was in the first category and has been all season. I also need to remind myself he has no club or contract after June 2026. There's no queue of clubs  lining up at his door with a pre-contract and pen begging him to sign. Has this realisation suddenly hit him and he's decided he'll need to impress to find himself a new club?

I do wonder if his 'lifestyle' caught up with him, flying off to LA during a two day break whilst at Chelsea, missing training  then the twitter/X 'blackmail' threats back in October regarding payment for setting his new girlfriend up with him. His wannabe rap star girlfriend has this month posed in wedding gear on Instagram to her 12m followers, admittedly she looks fine but he's supposed to be bloody footballer and his mind appeared to be elsewhere until this month. It's a bit late for him to grow up.

There's now talk of him looking to go to the MSL to be close to his girlfriend or returning to Germany where apparently the game suits more his style. I don't see him being here next season or any other PL club coming in for him. Unai says he still wants more from him, whether he gets it is another matter. Trollope's "the impossible I do immediately, miracles take a little longer" springs to mind though Sanchos may be one challenge too far even for Unai.
