You’re right, but it wouldn’t quite be fair to hold that against him.

Thought he was fine, one shirked tackle as per usual; surprisingly, got himself quickly on the scene for the Paulinha handbags at the end! Bless.

Unai seems to trust him.

McGinn was better, though - that one’s for “Mr Clampy”, with love. ;)

He has moments where I think “class”, as in his first touch, body movement etc

But he lacks grit and determination, like shirking a challenge or not tracking back quite quick enough, and if he does he puts in a half arsed challenge to win the ball back

He is a luxury player without the luxury of goals or assists, so don’t see him being here beyond the end of the season, even if he is on a free

I suppose what’s puzzling me is that last season he posted some quite reasonable stats for Chelsea 5 G 13 A (?) but we’re not seeing anything like that for us. I’m assuming he played more minutes for them and hence had more playing time?

Maybe reflecting more Conference League minutes?

But yes, 0 goals and assists is looking very odd, even if only from a statistical perspective.

I did wonder if that was padding his stats.

Conference league definitely padded his stats but he still got three goals and 4 assists in the league, but very noticeable that his goals were against two relegated teams and Spurs who ended 4th from bottom, and his assists were mainly against teams who like to play rather then press. Also did pretty much nothing in the league in the second half of the season.
