Drummond, I just did the same and last 15 minutes have totally changed my stance on Sancho. I thought he was superb and made a big difference to our total domination of Chelsea. if he carries on this way for the second half of the season whenever Unai decides to start/bring him on we will be a much better attacking force.

I've just rewatched the 2nd half and he didn't really do much. There's no doubt a player in there but he'd need a big reduction in wages.

If he gets to the sort of place where he's an important part of the squad, then an equivalent player is costing us £30m+ and £100,000pw in wages.

So *if* the management is happy with him, then bunging him £10m of that and £150,000pw is just fine.

If you haven’t done so already, it’s worth watching the last bit of the Arsenal game to see a similar contribution.

Looks good when he can be arsed, but that's the problem for me. Inconsistent.

He needs to do something special and have an immaculate attitude to justify the his likely wages in the summer. The risk is we give him £200k/week and then have a queue of X players at the door demanding the same.

Unai knew Guessand might be called up for Afcon and over last number of weeks has probably had Sancho training/learning the Bailey/Guessand role. Unai thinks of everything.

At the first time of asking Sancho impressed in that role but needs to impress on a regular basis. With him and Watkins firing on all cylinders it could be like 2 new signings in January!!

Only a feeling but the way Sancho celebrated both goals and at the end of the match, made him look more like 'one of the lads' instead of a blow in. That can only be good. If he does play well though he has to accept a lower wage to get a permanent contract.
