Everyone knows how to beat Palace except Emery. They need to be pressed high as the back 3 aren’t great on the ball and will cough up cheap possession and surely Unai has worked out how to create overloads on their wingbacks. It’s just baffling.

Cash needs dropping. I'm at the point with him that I'd rather see Konsa and forget attacking down that side.

You can forget defending too if Konsa is playing. He's gutless, no matter the position. Torres can't be trusted either, cowardly last night for their third goal and at Brentford. His distribution has collapsed too. We have a serious issue at centre back, have had for 12 months. Either or both of these should have been moved on this summer. The new Bendarek isn't going to fix it. Nearly 40m spent on a left back who somehow gets worse nearly every time he plays.

But yeah Matty Cash

We've become pretty boring and predictable as a team.

I'll say it again - stale, squad and tactically

The players body language was certainly a worry. Still early days but Unai has to find a way of getting a performance out of who ever he has left after 7pm tonight.

None of our defenders are top class Cash, Konsa, Mings, Pau, Digne and Marston every one of them could do with an upgrade
We all have our own particular defence player scapegoat but they are all culpable everyone of them not good enough for a consistent top four level

Yes, we’ve done it once in the last three seasons, but that was because we had the best goalkeeper in the world saving more shots than anyone else in the Premier league
Simple as that

The defense needs an upgrade which we’re not going to get under the present financial restrictions
And the fact that our recruitment of late has been shoddy
Not sure I agree, Digne and Konsa are pretty solid if unspectacular.

Like I said everyone’s got there scapegoats but it’s a collective defensive malaise, none of them come out particularly well

You like Konsa, I think he’s the worst of the lot
Like when the third went in yesterday, positioning nowhere on his knees crying like a big baby soft as fuck and as slow as fuck because he’s like a rabbit in the headlights when he’s got the ball zero ideas of what to do with it

But like I say they’re all culpable no one comes out with any credit

I’ve said it before.
The players look bored. They look shackled.
They must be pig sick of seeing Cash constantly looking to play the ball backwards to the nearest CH, being unable to tackle without fouling and seeing him fuck over his team mates with awful mistakes.

😄 We must be the only two regarding Konsa.

Digne looked finished at Brentford too. Might be ok in a flat back four with no requirement to overlap.

Cash has directly contributed to major goal conceding or game changing cock ups in 3 of his last 4 games. He is a liability.

So has Konsa. Well at least two although his shit sending off meant we were playing with Mings on the right /left/whereever he wanted to be.

Undefeated in 14 games. (Take us out and undefeated in 12 including beating Citeh and Plop for trophies and drawing with but probably should have been a win at Chelsea).

A quote from June 2024:

"Managing a sports team has become more like being a treasurer or a bean counter rather than looking at what your team needs," Sawiris said.

"It's more about creating paper profits, not real profits. It becomes a financial game, not a sporting game."

Well they are right, it’s not even really a competitive sport anymore. Not to those locked out of ambitious spending, anyway.
