He’s a piss poor player, think I’d rather have Disasi and I thought he was fucking rubbish

I thought he’d be fine, neat and tidy as his pass completion was always good at his previous club. But didn’t expect him to be as good as he has been.

I, like many, was underwhelmed, recalling so many indifferent performances he'd had a Redmanc.
I am loving being proved so utterly wrong. He played so well and gave Tielemans the space to do what he does best. I think we have Bouba's back-up...

Another solid and excellent performance.
So many times he was right place right time and also manages to pass to an another Villa player.
Top man.

Even then, he was a near ever-present in a defence that finished second and third in the league during his Man Utd days. I think the reason he gets a bad reputation is they signed him in the days when they thought they should be winning the league, and he was ONLY good enough to keep them in the Champions League places.

His time with them suggests he was never anything other than a centre-back for a top four / top six side.

An initially unheralded signing who became a vital component in the overall picture. Great professional and I'm glad he's here.
