A bit disappointed no Malen to start the game given his great pre seasom. But that’s a solid side. The bench looks very thin indeed.

Probably favouring the box midfield more than a wide man.

3 academy players and about £180m of signings doesn't scream thin to me.

The bench depth isn’t what it was last season attacking options-wise, unless Guessand hits the ground running.

Look at the benches we had at the end of last season compared to this one. We will be relying on the kids a lot more this season. Hopefully they can prove themselves at this level quickly. Obviously once Emi, Barkley, one or two new signings get back to will improve. Let’s see how it goes.
