Hopefully Iraola, if he's Palace's new man, sees something in Evann that reminds him of Semenyo.

Like Ive said before  I watched the final last night with my palace season ticket father in law  and absolutely loves Evann  and I know he is popular with their fans.     Good luck to the lad.

Good luck and all that, but the sooner he's off our books the better.

Good for Evann. Didn’t have an easy time with us. Just not a fit. But he contributed to our Europa success and helped Palace. Good luck to him should he join them, which I expect he will.

They'd be mad not to sign a player who guarantees you two European trophies a season. In fact, I'd be tempted to keep him with the Super Cup and Champions League coming up.

Maybe the stint helps him settle and figure out English football a bit better. Might come back an improved player, even if it is a massive jump from a 15th placed team to a 4th placed team. At the very least, it may help us sell him on for a better fee if Palace don't take him, as he'll have shown a bit more for them than he would have if he stayed with us. Trying to be optimistic.

Indeed. The spell at Palace might have helped his acclimatisation. To me his most obvious flaw was his slow reactions to opponents putting any kind of pressure on him.

Don't think he has the pace or trickery for playing on the Wing. Be better as a bustling RB or CM.

Yep, he also has a languid style, which can often make him look disinterested, or even lazy.  That might not be the case, but it's how it can 'look'.  But he's clearly not afraid to get stuck in, and, ironically, I think the part of his role he did best for us was helping out defensively in front of Cash.  It was further up the field that he seemed to struggle/lack confidence.  If you're after a 'defensive winger', he probably fits the profile well!

Unai has seen him up close and personal, and he was bought on Monchi's watch, so if he doesn't think he can make a first-team player out of him, then happy to see him go for as close as we can get to what we paid.

It would be nice to think we could reinvest the money spent on him this summer.

It would be a really odd decision, but at least we beat him quite often. Hope Glasner fucks off to the Saudi League.

He's the fastest player we own right now - https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/statistics/players/?sortBy=top_speed&order=desc

His acceleration isn't as high as you'd like though and that's often more important. I agree he's not particularly tricky but I don't see that as a massive problem if he could solve the bigger issue which was that, despite being a big lad, he didn't seem prepared for how physical the game was and was too easily bullied. If you watch him from the previous season his game relied on pure physical dominance a lot of the time, brushing people aside and then running away from them to find space for a pass/shot, a lot like rogers does. I think we went for him with the idea of him developing in a similar way but he just struggled to get up to speed and with Europe and the league both being given high priority we didn't really have the chance to let him work it out, so he was in and out of the team and it knocked his confidence. He did better at Palace because I think he felt 'safer' in his place.

Noneof this is to say we should bring him back and try again but rather that I think he could've worked if we were able to be more patient with him but as it is I think the road back would be too difficult with how many fans would need to be won over and therefore gettin gour money back might be for the best.
