He can snog their badge, take me for dinner and make love to me after for all I care. He's a decent player in their system and we need them to lash out the required number of English pounds to get him off our books.

That's dedication for you, you always want what's best for the Villa. 👍

Haha at this stage, after 30 years of winning nothing at all, I’ll throw in a left nut.

Swings and roundabouts. If he makes 8+ goal contributions in the second half of the season, questions need to be asked on why we couldn't utilise him in our squad to make as many for us.

Indeed - if he does that, between him and Elliott there needs to be some serious reflection on identification and integration of players. I know Monchi has gone, but it’s not just a one person thing.

3 so far isn’t it? 2 goals and an assist?

Yep. In the 21 games for us he got two goals. In the 6 for them he has two goals and an assist.

Clearly Palace thought there no chance of that happening.

We know from bitter experience that these clauses mean nothing if the manager or club don't fancy him in the end.  He could get to 7, then be sitting in the stands until he comes back to us if they want to avoid buying him.

I'm more interested in how he's playing, and what the Palace fans think of him.  If he's doing okay, and the fans like him, then it's likely they'll buy him, goal involvements or not.

So far, so good, in that respect.

These clauses become more parody-like every time. Looks like we're playing our Reverse Uno card after being pwn'd on the Elliott deal.

Do these goal involvements include European games? What if he assists but its an OG so it's taken off him by the dickheads on the Dubious Goals Panel?
Game's gone, Tom.

Watched him versus spurs and thought he was still pretty meh.  Looks busy, better body language and had the courage to take players on.  However he usually lost the ball doing so.

I think Emery tried to coach that out of him, prioritising ball retention.  Not sure there’s much left after you take away the high risk dribbling, hard work i suppose.

Agreed, was much the same in their game against United. Very good at looking like he's doing a lot without actually contributing much of any worth. Backing out of tackles, not carrying the ball well, late to spot a forward pass in a dangerous area and can't dribble.

If he get's 8 more goal contribution to be meet the obligation, I'd be amazed.
