Tony Head
« on: July 31, 2025, 12:53:51 PM »
My Dad Tony (Anthony  Head) died 3rd July funeral was Monday. He took me to first  few Villa games under Graham Taylor I think Sheff Wednesday in League cup might have been our first proper game and  we always stood left side Holte End  by the floodlights back then.  I  do remember Brendan Batson testimonial a few years before  when we stood with the Albion fan's and I had my Villa scarf on wondering  what the commotion was ! We went all over country  together in early days and  as he worked for British Rail spent many a time in railway clubs pre match which i think he enjoyed more than the games.  We also both worked as stewards together for a few years in the late 90s. We carried on going for the next few decades intermittently as I'd moved and his health meant it was easier for him to watch at home. I'm sure he'll be roaring us on though from above,  as ever lamenting another year without the F. A Cup ! Miss you Dad x Ian
