I've never known a player with such presence on the pitch. There was nothing particularly outstanding in his game but he seemed to operate with an exclusion zone around him at times.

The look he gave the away end at the Yawnthorns after banging that penalty in will live with me forever.

Great article.

I also thought Snoddy put in a huge shift and it was a real shame we couldn't keep him for our promotion season.

Absolutely. If memory serves, he had an amazing record for Australia, not only captaining them but never missing a penalty.
Another to file under unsung heroes. I'd love Dave to have the chance to have a proper interview with him about his time at Villa Park.

Another performance worthy of praise was coming on as a sub second half in the down to 10 men Rotherham away, from recollection he was a rock in that second half.

Unsung heroes have always been amongst my favourite Villa players and Mile is one of them.

Does anyone know what he’s doing now after he left Spuds?

The highlights of that shootout are nothing to do with a football and both involved the eyes. Jedinak and Steer
