Seems this one is now close enough. Jacob Tanswell reporting we have finalized terms with him as back up to Emi.

Seems like a positive signing as a back-up GK.

What's he like playing out from the back though?

2+2=5 but the fact we have signed a clear back-up keeper makes me think we're more confident Emi is staying.

Yeah because he's moved from 3/4 on the list to 3/4 on the list.

We needed an experienced backup regardless.

I don't think Gauci or Marschall are up to it; Zych is going out on loan again; and Proctor is too young/inexperienced.

We definitely do, but if our Number 1 is a 23 year old French kid then I’d prefer a decent back up in case he doesn’t step up.

Lots of saves with his feet. Can’t judge much from a YouTube snippet.

Hell of a lot of blocks with legs and feet and some decent saves also.

Would like to see how he is on crosses and commanding his area (an area Olsen was awful at and clearly unnerved the defence) and also his footwork and distribution.

There is so much to Emi's and other top keepers game than just shot stopping. All pro keepers are agile enough to pull of worldy saves - its the bread an butter stuff that is important.

Emi, if nothing else, has a huge presence on the pitch (and off it) that breeds confidence in defenders
