Pretty decent first half, could easily have had the lead near the end.

Hijikata had the best chance of the game so far, really needed to get that header on target.

I'm fine with those changes, It's the same thing I think they should do with the men.

People argue that it devalues the league cup but is it really any worse than seeing clubs put out a reserve team until they get far enough to take it seriously?

Yes, much worse. It reduces the only competition most of us have ever seen Villa (men) win to a glorified Leyland Daf Cup.

I agree.

The league cup was more valued when we won it in the 90's. I just don't think it is anymore.

Have to love the standards of punditry…United just missed a gilt edge opportunity where the player clearly shot with the wrong foot…not even mentioned beyond ‘she will be disappointed with that’ :-)

1st and 2nd were down to still the key downside for the women’s game, poor goalkeeping.  Although the standards are better than a few years back they still aren’t great.  We have two who make good saves but don’t seem to be able to go a game without dropping a ricket.

3 and 4 were as much about us committing to get back in and getting hit.

I can’t remember which team she was on about, but the co-commentator came out with the cliche about ‘they nearly scored then to get back into the game’. It was 1-1 at the time.

There was another one that I can’t remember now, but it might come back to me.

Currently 1-1 at half time against Everton  at Goodison Park. Ebony Salmon with the Villa goal
