I'm reading it that 90% is sold to V Sports and 10% to American investors.

We are selling to "American investors", I don't think we are selling to ourselves. So who knows.
V Sports.
The company that owns us.

Sounds like we would be selling 10% to outside investors and 90% to V Sports.

Yes, you are right.
Given it’s about £5m for that 10% you would think it was quite easy for the club to have found an investor.

But would also prevent us from deliberately inflating the value of the other 90% as a PSR fiddle, so I'm not sure what the benefit is.

So, you're saying the ladies team is only worth £50m; a fifth of the Chelsea valuation?

A quarter, Chelsea valuation was £200m.

I think that’s about right.

True, but maybe the club are playing it safe. There are questions over Chelsea using inflated numbers so it seems we are being realistic.
To be fair, adding the warehouse for £50m (genius move) to £55m for the women’s team is a nice influx of revenue.

I’m just happy we have people with real financial nouse running the club and they are not afraid to ‘play the game’ that Chelsea and others  play and get away with.

£5m would be pocket change to one of Wes or Nas's mates. I bet there are deals like this all the time.

It seems to be a sensible move, particularly the figures banded around, especially if somebody, somewhere is going to look at Chelsea‘s figures. I just hope we can now get on with signing players for both the women’s and the men’s teams.

I thought I read somewhere that the Chelsea valuation had since been revised to £245m; no matter.

Aren't Chelsea's women's team all-conquering habitual winners of silverware?

It also adds a level of authenticity to the value. We can say person x is willing to actually stump up £5m for 10% so the total value is genuinely £50m.

We all know this is a FFP maneuver BUT could this see investment in the women's team be a bit easier as somebody somewhere will want a return on this.  Could we challenge towards the top of the WSL soon?
I guess we are effectively selling it back to ourselves though, so nothing changes ?

The real question is whether Aston Villa Ladies are "we" anymore; given they're just part of a broader sporting network - it gives them the same status as Vitoria and Real Union.  Just different "brands" of a sporting conglomerate.

I would imagine there would be some sort of accounting required in respect of "shared services" across the group - we can charge the women's team for use of our facilities - which of course is ultimately paid for by the same people - but I'd imagine the women's PSR rules are less restrictive on them than the men's rules are on us.
