I'd say they're the biggest club never to win it. Either them or Atlético, anyway. Not sure who would make top five, maybe Sporting, Dynamo Kyiv and some Belgian team, Anderlecht, perhaps.

Well not just Big Cup, they’ve not managed a EUFA/Europa Cup win either. The two European titles they have won no longer exist.

I'd say one, as I don't count the Fairs Cup. Not a UEFA competition.

Definitely not just bitter because they banned Clyde from taking part under the "one club per city" rule in 1967, honest.

Arsenal have now lost 5 major European finals in a row. I'd imagine it's painful to lose one European final, never mind five.

It’s very weird they’ve never managed it tbh, given the massive advantages they have over say, us, for example.

They're the Atlético Madrid of England. Just less successful in Europe than their Madrid counterparts.

We can all safely book up for Salzburg now without having to worry about those insufferable tosspots.

They probably all booked their hotels before the Group Stage of this year's Champions League.

Arsenal and Atlético Madrid are definitely the biggest not to have won it. After that, you could also chuck Rangers, Galatasaray, Olympiacos into the discussion.

Yes I agree it would be painful but we really have no idea how painful.

Indeed, it's really difficult to imagine.

We are still a religious community, for fuck's sake. We're going to need to make a sacrifice. I propose the League Cup.

I'm in Salamanca, and had been following the game on here and on the BBC website up to the end of normal time, and then decided it was time to go out. The game was being shown in lots of the bars here, but I just dived into one to watch the penalties. The Spaniards standing next to me were dumbfounded by (1) the fact that I did not want Arsenal to win and (2) by the extent to which I wanted them to lose, as demonstrated by my very noisy and exuberant reaction to their two missed penalties. A very satisfactory evening.

Sad thing is you just know that racist abust is incoming for the players that missed.
Sadly, you're right. A real downside of this.

It’s so depressing that, despite longing for an Arsenal defeat, I actually wanted Eze to score his pen.

Arsenal are the worst side ever to appear in a CL final.  And they are PL champions.  We would’ve beaten that PSG side tonight.  They were dreadful as well.
