I am now convinced that Chelsea are throwing games because they don't want to qualify for the Conference.

I said awhile back that I wondered if they wanted European competition at all as they are under a worse position then us. It depends on what UEFA does to monitor them when they aren't in the competition with a squad to judge on. But I suspect a suspension of monitoring means they are more likely to be making the levels in another year.

Chelsea really are dire, how on earth did they shit all over us?
That comment has been made many times in all of their matches after they beat us.

Yeah but it gets more baffling with every passing week.

It’s simple, we had a very bad day at the office. We’ve had a few and we will every season as we don’t have a huge squad and the levels can dip. Also, sometimes, which can happen with every team in world football, everything clicks and you all have a very good performance like Chelsea did against us. That’s football for you.

Liverpool are a bit rubbish. Van Dijk is a passenger.

The two playoff games in the Championship have provided sufficient evidence as to why whoever goes up from the 4 teams is coming straight back down.

Which is exactly what we all said would happen to Sunderland.

Last night's game was an abomination, 90 mins of my life I won't get back. Today's isn't much better.

Yeah, you can't really judge too much as half the players will be replaced anyway. Six of our playoff final starters started in our first league game at Tottenham, and two of those were players we had to spend money on to sign again.

Sunderland are the exception more than the rule. And it will be interesting to see how they fare next season. It’s going to take a massive investment on the part of any of these sides to stay up.
