Doesn’t the concussion protocol automatically rule him out?

Not sure if that applies to games in different competitions. UEFA doesn't seem to give much of a shit, don't think they even have concussion subs, the twats.

It has to be a medical decision, not based on which competition he is playing in next.

Can't see anything in the rules that prevents Forest from selecting him:

"Return to play or training

In the event of a head injury or suspected concussion during the season and/or UEFA competition, before the player is allowed to train or play the team doctor should inform UEFA in writing that the player:

has undergone a comprehensive, multimodal evaluation by a medical doctor;

has passed each of the steps set out in the Graduated Return to Play Protocol referred to in the UEFA Football Doctor Education Programme manual or equivalent tool and is fit for training/competition."

Ok, but it’s that medical bit that is important. You’d think the manager etc would follow what the medical guys say.

Is that the medical guys paid well by the club? I mean IF he really does have a strong concussion, I think they would do something about it as ultimately it is their medical licenses they are losing if something really fucks up, but otherwise he still has plenty of time to recover based on the protocol of not doing anything until Wednesday morning and then light training that day followed by a Thursday morning session maybe and then the game.

Get in. Now add a few more to improve the goal difference.

They’ll have plenty of opportunities to do that on the 24th

Wow. It's actually possible, now.

Is the next game one of the very few occasions where the preferred victory of the sensible neutral is a Rangers win?

No such conditions exist on this planet.

Frank Lampard was wearing a claret & blue Coventry tracksuit on their bus parade. I thought we were deadly rivals?

That chocolate brown monstrosity to match their worst away kit in the history of football! Horrible city. Horrible club. Horrible fans!

The steps are 24-48 hours rest, then a graduated return to through light to standard training. Unless it is a bad / delayed concussion I can't see any reason he won't be available to start Thursday.

Having seen the stitches he posted on instagram, concussion is the least of his worries and I’ll be stunned if he plays again this season. I didn’t count them, but there must be well over a dozen stitches from his nose up into his forehead. It looks horrific. Not sure how you protect that sort of injury well enough to play any time soon!?

I hope he’s ok, that’s an awful injury and head injuries can be very difficult.
