I can only think there's a lot of hair fascism about if people don't think pulling hair is a red card. It's basically assault and is just as bad as most raised-hand incidents and 'headbutts' that we see receiving automatic reds in the game.

Nice to see the BBC swinging for Newton Heath again, asking if it should be a red card.

I look forward to an article claiming that we should've been awarded a goal even though Rogers missed at Forest.

Didn't Carrick argue the Maguire incident wasn't a red card as well? And halfway through his rant he seems to have thought the red card was given on the pitch and the ref was sent to the screen to override it and didn't.

Quote
"I don't even know what it looks like. It's not a pull, it's not a tug, it's not aggressive. He touches it and he gets sent off.

"Worse of all, he gets sent to overturn it, a clear and obvious error. Shocking. He is off balance and grappling.

"We have got to be careful where the game is going. It is a shocking decision, absolutely shocking."

It was a clear red card, as was the one in the Arsenal Women match. Dumb behaviour.
Agree.
On the replay it looks like he has 2 grabs at it and manages to get it the second time.
Although I think DCL should be banned from civilised society for wearing a man bun, the skirt wearing numpty.

Mike carrick thinks it was one of the worst decisions he’s ever seen.

That doesn't surprise me much as despite being a fine footballer, he's always struck me as being thick as a whale omelette.
He was a fine manager at Boro but that kind of shit relegates him to the Big Pay Off Manager League for achieving Sweet FA.

His time with them went 4th / 8th / 10th and now he's left they're back in 4th at time of writing.

That's not the record of a "fine manager"

Didn't a player get sent off for pulling Cucarella's hair earlier this season?

Carrick, Neville, Ferdinand all bleating about a correct red card when Rat Face and Cunhna spent the whole match rolling around on the floor trying to con the ref.

Definite red. To make it even worse DCL was in midair when his neck was jolted back. Dangerous.

You can argue whether the laws are right but the interpretation of the law as currently written is not open to interpretation.
What winds me up more is th ed sympathetic media coverage “worst decision ever” etc which was just like Bournemouth. Both decisions were correct.

Hairpulling is like scratching or eye-gouging. It's just wrong and correctly punishable with an early bath.

It was a red card. I heard Carrick banging on about to help with balance. He's feeling a bit of pressure for the first time and talking bollocks. You can see him go for the hair, miss it, and then go again, before the ball even gets there. Premeditated. Off you pop.

Yep, agreed, you have to have some things that are red line zero tolerance and all of those (along with intentional grabbing someone's junk) are the wrong side of that.

Carrick's bubble has burst so no wonder he's resorted to talking bollocks. Last 4 games W1, D1 L2. Unfortunately that one win was us.

As he reflects on his sending off, Martinez must be kicking himself for simply forgetting NOT to grab another player's hair.

Carrick made me laugh. He want on and on about the worst decision he’s ever seen then they asked him if he will appeal and he said I don’t know I’ll need to look at it again!
