I know it’s not popular on here but I love Italy in a World Cup.  I love a lot of the country.  And they’re a traditional team unlike some of the shit countries getting through these days.

They shouldn't be so shit then.

Same here, I'd rather they had qualified.

Italy. Three consecutive failures to reach the World Cup finals, a period in which they, of course, beat England in a Euros final.

If you're too shit to qualify for a 48 team WC then you absolutely shouldn't be there. For me Curacao being there is more interesting. And i'd think the same if England didn't make it.

Absolutely. Unless you're Italian, wanting them to win is weird. Like wanting Man U or Liverpool to win the FA Cup.

Europe is a lot harder to qualify from than any other continent.

The tournament is far worse without Italy and Eire, we bring the craic.

I too have a fondness for Italy, and it will certainly be the country to visit this summer if your aim is to avoid the WC.

Just hope Tonali had B&H in his acca this week…they are just such a weird team, 3/4 exceptional players with a lot of dross around them

I don’t class myself as weird.  I just like Italy and its culture.

Czechia through

Jammy wankers. Why did they get to play at home twice in a row?

Africa is the hardest continent to qualify from. Sweden just qualified with one normal time win from eight qualifying matches.

Exactly. Being a 'traditional' team shouldn't mean anything. Missing 3 in a row is a bit mad, especially now with 48 teams.

Indeed. Europe's a piece of piss. They've been knocked out by Sweden, Macedonia and Bosnia.
