SJM has come on for his 85th cap for Alba. 20 mins left.

So soon out for one month. Could have been worse had he come on earlier. Silver linings and all that.

I see subbed and subs are now described as players out and in, not players off and on.

At least Tuchel has learned something from tonight.

That he's not fit to lace the great Sir Gareth Southgate's boots?

I seem to remember watching a few matches like this during Southgate's reign.

Friendlies are a nonsense anyway, to be fair.

Lee Dixon is becoming the new Mark Lawrenson on commentary.

Japan need a different keeper, this one's an accident about to happen, even though he's barely been tested.

It’s so refreshing seeing teams run with the ball at pace, pass with pace and be up the pitch within a few seconds. Japan do it very well.

Czechia 1-0 up against Denmark.
Cracking hit from the edge of the box.  The barstewards.

Denmark seem to have some talent coming through, no idea if they're playing for the national side but over the last few weeks I've seen our name linked with a few and on further investigation it's been a case of 'oh another Danish player'. How do you rate them, ViD?

The big talent of the last couple years has  been Gustav Isaksen but he went to Italy from FCM  last summer.

Not really paid much attention other than that. Your mate Morten Hjulmand from Sporting has looked out of his depth tonight.

Rashford and Bowen have improved us massively. I don't think it's any shock that Rogers is the only one of the starting front 4 still on the pitch. He's not been great but the other 3 were fucking terrible.

The Japanese are the most tenacious people on the planet. Their football team reflects that.
