Exactly, does anyone really think that Désiré Doué could do post-match "Another One!" videos as well as our Lucas?

I don't think yours (or the others above) is an unreasonable position to take.

It was just a comment on how high our standards are now, that a current starter for (in my opinion) the strongest international squad in the world is a player that we're talking about looking at upgrading.

I have no issue wiht Digne at all, I think he's been largely very good for us this season but with him, Mings and Lindelof we have 3 defenders who are all of an age where we need to have plans for replacing them. That's a big chunk of our defence potentially dropping out of the standard we need in the year or 2.

If we have to let 1 or 2 of them go to have space/funds to bring in replacements then so be it. I am hoping that we can hold out and give some of the kids more of a chance to fill that gap though, I just wish Iling-Junior had done better on his loans to make the decision at left back a little easier.

I've got higher hopes for the options at CB.
