Only just watched MOTD.
Now I can see what folk are saying about the pen and sending off...fuck me corruption in plain site
Sky pundits did mention it started outside the box straight after the game,I haven't a clue about the rules these days

I thought Blues were winning this, what happened?

No remember, the Rags would win the Europa League, the Conference League and probably qualify for the Champions League but it's the Championship they struggle with.

Empty seats my Lord.
Can’t see them filling the chimney pot stadium!

"I couldn't go tonight Tom, I was at the Peaky Blinders premiere. Can have a BRMB Flat Cap Tom?"

TBF, the plan by the owners is not for Blues to fill it, is for the NFL, the concerts and the England matches to fill it. The modular two stands / lower tier or the smaller stadium next door is for them.

Are they using the chimneys as goal posts?

I watched Ref Watch on Sky yesterday. Dermot Gallagher is the cheerleader.... sorry I mean impartial voice of the referees union. He completely backed the decision saying that the red card and the penalty were correct. It made me realise that after years of rule changes and a week jollies at a country manor to discuss these things every season, they have lost the plot completely. "There was contact outside the box which carried on into the box" was Dermots assessment.
So they now think it's perfectly normal for a strapping athlete like Cunha to throw himself theatrically to the ground when an opponent lightly places hand on his shoulder.
The games gone Tone.

Iran’s women’s team decline to sing national anthem before Asian Cup tie

Possibly belongs in one of the other threads, but it is other football.

I would accept it to some extent if we hadn't had several penalties not given with alot more contact then that with apparently VAR agreeing that there "was not enough contact for the players reaction". Then they accept that deliberate fall into the box from someone apparently being "forcefully" pulled back.

I don't really see why the "foul started outside the box" stuff has got people worked up. It's been like that for years. It's not really any different to any other use of the advantage rule.

Obviously it's barely even a foul in the first place, which is fair enough to get worked up about.

They freeze-framed it showing that at the point of Cunah diving, the extent of the physical pressure on him was three fingers on the shoulder. Should be shot and sent back to Brazil.

Real Madrid lost again.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/live/c5yr5qp0jnpt

Real Madrid seem to receive a lot of red cards after 90 minutes when they lose.  Is that statistically true or evidence of my bias that they're petulant spoilt brats?

Having Easter weekend to myself is good. Well done, FIFA. Now ban Boxing Day and New Year's matches.

Is easter in September now?

How much is the Fail moaning about no Easter even though the actual date of Easter moves around anyway and it is pure luck then judgement that a worldwide international teams week hasn't fallen on it before?

Yeah, it's only the Easter football for now, but before you know it they'll ban chocolate and eggs.

You can't say Easter Eggs any more, you have to call them Isis Spheres. Because of health and safety.
