I don’t like this coefficient nonsense as I don’t like English sides progressing.

I don’t like this coefficient nonsense as I don’t like English sides progressing.

I like it when we benefit, and hate it when others do.

It will mean we'll get paid quite a bit more next year, should we qualify for the Champions League again (everything crossed).  I think it's outrageous that teams that went out before the QF stage earned more than we did last season, simply because their coefficient was higher than ours after we spent so long outside Europe.  Liverpool earned about £30m more than us from the Champions League, despite going out a round earlier, simply because of their European coefficient being better.  That's the difference between having to sell JJ, or not, for context.

But now we'll have a Conference run to the semis, Champions league run to the QF, and minimum of knockout stage of the Europa League to bump our coefficient numbers up.  Still below the Champions League regulars, but getting closer.

Another step towards breaking into the closed shop.  5 years of regular European football and we should be looking at getting similar amounts to the top teams, should we come close to matching their European performances.

English clubs are far stronger than the majority of European sides because they have far more resoueces. There already is a European Super League, the PL.

Yeah, it's bollocks, but we'll be earning more €€€ for each season we're in Europe. On the plus side, it'll make it harder for Small Heath to bridge the gap to us when they move.

Yep. No excuse for how pathetic some of the teams from other quite wealthy leagues were, though. Villarreal finished nine points below Qarabag.

On the subject of the UEFA Coefficient some back of the fag packet calculations mean we’ll have a 5 year coefficient well into the 70s if we win the Europa League, ahead of one of the “turnover 6” in Man Yew. Another season of CL football would then have us starting to get near Chelsea and Spurs. This is a long term “project” (vomits) but we are progressing well even though it’s frustrating doing it with one hand tied behind our back.

We could be top 15 as a run to the final could bag us about 32 for the season depending on how many we win. However I think the extra money is based off the 10 year average where the 5 year one is just for the drawing pots which doesn't make much difference now. We would still get more but still nowhere near the plop / citeh figures.

Nope, Value Pillar is 73% on Euro TV and 5 year Coefficient and 27% on Non European and the 10 year Coefficient.

Knock-out pairings, home in 1st leg listed first:

Round of 24

Monaco/Qarabag vs PSG/Newcastle

PSG might have a french side in the playoffs like last year, and Newcastle travelling 3000 miles to Azerbaijan will be nice.

They'd know what it feels like for everyone else to traipse up to their fur trading outpost.

Just seen the Havetz goal. Surprised it was given as it looked like Gyokeres fouls clears out the closing defender off the ball allowing Havertz more time to come inside.

What Fcuking bottlers Napoli are.

They had their chances but João Pedro was on another level. £55m for him looks money well spent.
