There wasn’t much evidence on the racism incident. It took about a year to process it and then they decided he’d said something on ‘the balance of probability’ - this meant that PNE fans stood up for him despite the charges. However, I was suspicious of his attitude. They played Burnley very shortly after the allegation from one of their players, and he scored and taunted their fans. I think if I had that hanging over my head and was innocent I’d be keeping my head down a bit more!

The consensus among PNE fans today is that he’s a liability and an embarrassment and most want rid of him with the only reservation being that he’s not worth anything with his record so who can they get in!

The reaction from Mejbri was instant. I'd be amazed if he didn't say something racist.

There are lots of different insults someone could have an immediate reaction to though ( people say vile stuff about people's parents, partner, or kids that could invoke an 'immediate reaction' but not be racist) & Mejbri is also quite the twat. Recently banned for spitting at Leeds fans (which I appreciate could be seen as understandable).

As I say - I personally think he probably did say something racist because of his total lack of looking bothered by the allegation, but I also think 'probably' is dangerous ground to start acting on.

I don't know how you can ever prove racism when it's only the people involved who are witnesses, I just said I'd be amazed if he didn't, not that he should be prosecuted. Eitherway, you don't react like that if someone just called you a ******.
