The refs, now they’re not allowed to be biased!

(The BBC are, a little bit, supposed to be concerned with it.)

Great to see Carra doing Liverpool again, he is so balanced.
He must have it in his contract at Sky to do as many Liverpool matches as possible.

They’ve had him doing Liverpool, Neville doing Manure and Alan Smith doing Arsenal all in a couple of days. They couldn’t make their bias much more obvious!

They don’t pretend to be unbiased, they don’t try to be unbiased. Tgey don’t have to be unbiased. They book partisan ex-players because of their bias. The bias is is a feature, not a bug. Bias, or a lack thereof, is not something Sky, TNT, BBC Sport etc have to consider. It’s not their job to be unbiased.

If you’re constantly concerned with bias in these broadcasts, you will go insane, like a dog that is constantly furious that it never seems to sit a GCSE. That’s not what anyone’s there for.

Erm, yes ???

Leeds have done well but I expect Liverpool sorry I mean the ref to find a way through their dogged defence.

Yes, the presenters are. And they manage that pretty much without grown puce men taking to direct action.

Right, you agree. So what’s the problem?

The yellow card for Bijol seemed completely unnecessary, since Liverpool were not ready to take the free kick anyway! Refs really don't help themselves.

Can't say I noticed the BBC distinguishing itself with its football coverage with anything except being mildly more boring. A minor thing, for instance, but you do notice they report on Wrexham like they're the hometown team, which I'm sure pisses off a whole load of fans of other Championship clubs.

And I know why, it's for the same reason you've often correctly pointed out, namely the commercial logic of reporting more on the team owned by Deadpool - but while that works for Talksport or the Guardian, it really shouldn't work for the BBC.

Bit surprised that Kavanagh is doing Liverpool for the 4th time this season.  That's 20% of their games by one ref. Surely can't be right.

Not sure why an observation equates to a problem?

That is all true, and it would be interesting to know when this first happened.

One thing for sure is that they know all about audience figures, and they ain't doing it for shits and giggles.

I often mute the commentary, but I still watch the game.

I am not defending the quality of the content. I’m not defending anything, in fact. Just trying to maintain a modicum of sanity while frying my sanity with this club.
