While I don't ever want English teams to do well in Europe, it's utterly bollocks that Palace are being punished for their own success and forces to play a bunch of reserves tonight, because the authorities were incapable of conceiving the possibility that a Conference League team might make the quarter-finals of the League Cup and planning accordingly.
Either way, they are still weaker than they would otherwise be because of the league/league cup organisers being idiots. They shouldn't be put at any disadvantage, especially when the league didn't mind inconveniencing us to help Tottenham have more preparation time last season.
Palace are now 2-1 down to KuPS.

Are you suggesting that all this would be fine if Palace were playing Wednesday instead of Tuesday? And if they were playing on Wednesday then tonight they'd be playing their already overplayed, pared-to-the-bone first team instead?Or have I misunderstood you, and there's some other time that Palace's insufficient squad should play their League Cup game?

I'm not sure why that is complicated? They should have organised the fixtures to avoid this possibility. They went out of their way to help Tottenham and Man U but have punished Palace for being successful.
