The Jota death is having an effect here.

I did think that with his death that a drop off would be acceptable this season, but this is just too much of a dip in form. I think he's in trouble, especially with the money spent. I reckon Iraola will take over from Guardiola if he doesn't renew but I'd nick him if I were Liverpool.

Glasner maybe a better shout for Liverpool. Let's be honest they'd agree to bring Guehi, Henderson and Mateta for starters

Nah.
But it’s a good scapegoat/ excuse.

It absolutely would have an effect. You just have to listen to Robertson after the Scotland game. Grief is fucking weird. This much? No. But it will be having some.

We spent ages using JJ leaving as an excuse for being crap, a player dying is probably a better one.

I don't think Palace play the sort of football for Liverpool fans to accept him.

He might have tied the attack together more and might have been an unknown presence in the dressing room, but Slot was also relying last season on a Salah dream season AND every other challenger being poor. You could argue they had to buy Ekitike to replace Jota but so far he is the only signing Slot has made who has actually contributed this season.

Yeah. It's one of those things that feels both bad to say it could be a mitigating factor, but also worse to say it shouldn't be used as a mitigating factor.

I thought Spurs defending was the funniest thing I’d see tonight but then I saw Jamie Carragher’s meltdown.

Jota was massively popular there, look at how Robertson was when Scotland qualified.

Even Ekitike has been screwed though because he was in great form at their first choice centre forward at the start of the season but they still went and got Isak who just doesn't seem to fit them at all. The big drop in form is down to a bunch of things but I think the negative impact Isak has had on the squad is being ignored by too many people.

Well if the old guard feel they don't want to win a match because they feel it bring up too many memories of doing it with Jota, long may it continue.

I don't care what is causing it, I just very much like the concept of Liverpool going to shit - preferably the worst definition of 'to shit', and as fast as possible.

I definitely don't ignore that, they have clearly been destabilised by some of the new signings. Slot basically won with Klopp's team and now he's fucking up his own, but the Jota death will also be a factor. We all know elite sport is about percentage points and it will most likely have knocked a couple off for some individuals. How much of an effect is debatable, but it will be there. Robertson showed that with his interview.

Slot is clearly however now doing a shit job.

Just seen Van Djik's handball. I'm surprised he wasn't given a yellow for it as seemed deliberate and blatant and he didn't seem to have been fouled. Looked more like he had misjudged it and tried to stop it going over him for an easy goal.
