That was one of the better post-game interviews IMO with Kieran Dewsbury-Hall just on Sky.

Everton were excellent. Grealish worked really hard and good to see Tim come on and do well towards the and.

Amorin is doing a great job. Long may it continue. Of course on 21st December they'll get a morale boosting win...

Fuck it we'll turn this lot over.
No we won't: we ALL know deep down that they're lying in wait to ruin our collective footballing Christmas!

Sadly. :'(

We absolutely will not. If we had won the Quadruple ten years running and they were in the Manchester Relegation League Fourth Division and we drew them in the cup, we would still find a way to lose to them, even if we went two-nil up.

Every time I watch them they get worse. How the f*ck did we turn in that performance at Old Trafford last season? Fernandes and Casemiro don't run in midfield. Mount looks completely finished at this level too, was expecting him to make a big impact when he came on. Great result for Everton, they battled like troopers in the second half.

Manure were utter turd….referee was their man of the match.

Still say with a vaguely competent centre forward and Everton would be around top 7/8

I was only half watching but Barry the Everton forward didn’t look up to much, bit of a thankless task tonight being down to 10 men but he didn’t seem to be holding it up, although there was a stat that he’d won the most duels. Different position but a few similarities with Guessand.

We made Mount look like Rivaldo that day.

Doesn't matter how good our manager is or how good our form is, it doesn't matter how shit the opposition are, we will always find a way to lose in Manchester and Wolverhampton, and anywhere to Palace.

Bogey teams have always existed since I started following Villa a long, long time ago.

I predict that we will break the trend this season. This analysis is based on pattern recognition driven by AI algorithms.

To think I was slightly concerned Man U would be on the same points as us today. Great win for Everton. Now all that's left to do is Man U and Liverpool swap managers.

Seems like good news for England, potentially bad news for Scotland, Wales, Ireland and NI.

Cristiano Ronaldo will be able to play for Portugal in their opening game at next summer's World Cup finals despite his red card against the Republic of Ireland.

Ronaldo, 40, was sent off for an elbow to Dara O'Shea's back during Portugal's 2-0 qualifying defeat earlier this month.

Violent conduct normally carries a three-match ban but Ronaldo has had the second and third matches suspended for a year.

BBC Sport understands that the fact it was his first red card in 226 international appearances was taken into account.

Ronaldo sat out the match against Armenia on 16 November so will not miss any games in the United States next summer.

A Fifa statement said: "If Cristiano Ronaldo commits another infringement of a similar nature and gravity during the probationary period, the suspension set out in the disciplinary decision shall be deemed automatically revoked and the remaining two matches must be served immediately."

Ronaldo scored five goals in qualifying as Portugal won Group F to reach their seventh straight World Cup.

The 48 teams will find out which group they are in at a draw shown live on the BBC on Friday, 5 December.
