Arsenal to end sponsorship deal with Visit Rwanda - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c3epgezjw8xo

I expect they will get a different sleeve sponsor that is paying more rather then ending it for any moral reasons.

Oh, that's a very cynical take on a well-meaning establishment.

Elsewhere last night Leandro Bacuna formerly of this parish captained Curacao to the World Cup as they held Jamaica 0-0 in Kingston. Reggae Boy Steve McClaren resigned after the game.

Well done Scotland. Pleased for SJM, CD & AD.
As per usual, CD gave his all on the left wing.
You mean left wingback, I hope!

He was lucky not to get sent off for calling the ref a bumbaclot.

For some unknown reason, you've reminded me of Raston Villa on twitter

He did actually say ‘peace out’ in his resignation email, its worth a few seconds of your life to listen to….Steve ‘integrates into any country he worked in’ McLaren

Having worked in Curacao back in 2002/3, this is no mean achievement, a nation half the population size of Malta. Previously known for the mixer drink, an oil refinery and the main drug traffic route from Venezuela to Europe.

It is indeed a small island nation, but they've been blessed with an exceptional crop of 22 and 23 year-old players.

Haiti's qualification for their 2nd World Cup is remarkable as well. All 'home' games were played in Curacao, and like a lot of countries, much genealogical research was done finding players and they are hoping to find some more, like Wilson Isidor.

Haiti also qualify, first time since 1974, with a 2-0 win against Nicaragua.

While idly Googling stuff, I learned that the national team of Haiti has some of the best named players this side of Jizz Hornkamp:

Johny Placide
Keeto Thermoncy
Martin Expérience
Duke Lacroix
Duckens Nazon
Don Deedson Louicius
Ruben Providence
Frantzdy Pierrot
Garissone Innocent
Wilguens Paugain
Belmar Joseph
Mondy Prunier

I'm sure it's all to do with terrible slavery-related reasons, but even so. I'd definitely go and watch Duke Lacroix and the Martin Experience do their hot new take on jazz funk.

They sound like they were named by Martin Amis.

It looks like that meme of that non-licenced football video game from decades back, with the awful invented names
