I did and Chris Jameson, a poster on here, put me in my place saying that he was going to be a top goal scorer. However I still think he is a FTB and has never scored an important goal against top class opposition either for his clubs or England.

Guilty. I definitely remember thinking he’s ’not quick, no skill, looks a bit of a lump’ when he was coming through. He’d also been mostly average on loan at places like Orient and Norwich.

I didn’t ever think he was a one season wonder but I did think he’d passed his best during the Euros. He looks better than ever now.
