Looks like Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will all be in the playoffs. Republic still possible but they have no hope of qualifying via Nations League so will need to finish in the top two.

Not a great draw, would like more non-league teams at home to league sides. Still, a possibility that Tamworth and/or Walsall end up on telly.

Cabo Verde have qualified, that's all that matters.

Uruguay, 1930: won tournament as debutants

Italy, 1934: won tournament as debutants

1938-2022: can't be bothered to check but assume it followed a similar pattern

Cabo Verde, 2026: almost certain to win tournament as debutants based on above evidence.

Plus a Portuguese speaking team always wins it when the tournament is held in the United States.

That’s an indisputable fact based on one event.

Just saw the celebrations. Why the fuck don't they play in green?!

It's not that unusual. Like most countries, the kit reflects the colours of their flag. Also Greenland wear white and red, and Ivory Coast's first kit is orange and green rather than white.

I just assumed it would be cheating if they played in green when everything else in the land is green as well.

Greenland has the excuse of being founded by Erik the Red. If Cape Verde were founded by Lee Ryan, then fair enough.

I went to Cape Verde and was struck by that there was fuck all there, I'm astonished they managed to find some grass and get XI players.

I've no problem with Cabo Verde's colours, but it would be better if they went with a Sampdoria type design rather than something looks like a USMNT replica.

Heroes don't always wear cabos.

I bet they don't get that sort of content on their team's Fanzine page.
