The commentary we got on the Scotland match in Australia was similar in tone to the speech by Renton in Trainspotting. We're shit, it's a life of misery being Scottish, we don't deserve anything. I've never heard football commentary with such a sense of self-loathing.

Just accept that we will never win it. Genuinely, there is more chance of us winning the European Cup. There's probably more chance of us seeing off the champions of East Germany, the Soviet Union and West Germany on the way, again.
