Somehow Scotland winning 3-1. Lyndon Dykes out of retirement and into the net.

Big turning point in the match was a brilliant save from Angus Gunn to keep it at 2-1, then moments later the Greek goalie gifts Dykes the goal, which finishes the match off.

Turned over to see the last few minutes of the Scotland match. A tale of two goalkeepers.

They once won 13-0 with nine goals shared between two Villa players. I won't mention the opposition for fear of upsetting a regular poster.
Oliver Vaughton and Arthur Brown I think.

Pretty good effort. Howard Vaughton with 5, Brown got 4. Annoyingly no newspaper seems to have bothered printing the order of the goals so we will probably never know who was the first Villa player to score an international hat-trick.
Surprised myself by remembering that without checking it. I think it was in 1882 as well.

Lots of info here about match receipts, where the England team stayed and dined after the game. But no overall order of who scored when.

Yeah, that was massive, I was certain it was heading to the top corner. Not sure how Scotland won it (never mind 3-1), but fair play to them!

Just a head full of useless football facts really. For example I know Oliver Vaughton's family company was involved in naking the FA Cup trophy at one point. I can’t remember what I'm supposed to be doing today without checking though.

Awarding a goal for hand ball which prevents a goal could catch on.
