This bbc obsession with Manure is ridiculous.  They’re conducting a series of football interviews.  First up.  Ratface.

Indeed it is. Their football page looks more and more like a Man Utd magazine each day.   And what's with their reinvention of Wayne Rooney as some kind of footballing correspondent?

I made a complaint to the BBC about it and got a fluff answer back. I've responded and asked for more detail about decisions.

This was their intial response:

"We note your concerns about the level of coverage being devoted to Manchester United.

Choosing the stories to include in our football pages, the order in which they appear and the space devoted to them are subjective matters and we know not every reader will feel we get it right every time.

Factors such as whether it is a breaking story and needs immediate coverage, how unusual the story is or how much national interest there is in a particular match will all play a part in deciding the level of coverage.

Each story is chosen on its own merit and we can assure you that we would never display bias towards a particular club. Essentially this is a judgement call rather than an exact science, but the team at the BBC Sport website appreciate the feedback when readers feel a particular team may be receiving too much attention."

Won't do bias to a particular club, but we have specific ManU and ManC branded correspondents, but only a Midlands one to cover all the clubs down there.

“Never display bias”  the bare faced cheek of them. There’s clear bias where ManU are concerned. It’s so blatant I can barely watch any football show on the BBC lately.

Quite. I actually just laughed when I read it. I've now asked for some numbers, like how many stories have been about them and how many about other clubs, specifically Palace, Forest, Newcastle and us as teams that are in Europe. But also others that aren't, like Man U.

It's a joke and bare faced lie.
