For all the talk of how rotten the club is they still have a chunk of quality players, and a half decent manager would be doing better than Amorim. He seems absolutely clueless and just blames everyone else.

I think it's more complicated than that. On paper the squad looks good but on the pitch they have been poor under Amorim and ten Haag and I don't think it would be an easy job to go in and fix that. Then in the background you have a ground that's a wreck, support staff who have been gutted, the Glazers still sucking the club dry and Radcliffe being both useless and an arsehole, as well as a fan base who have utterly ridiculous expectations of a team that finished just outside the relegation zone. Poisoned chalice doesn't come close to how bad a job it is right now.

ManU have won 1 of their last 12 domestic matches.

And since winning at ManC before Xmas they've played 29 domestic matches. Their only wins are Saints (R), Fulham, Leicester (R), Ipswich (R), Leicester (R), and us. Plus Arsenal on pens. It's almost impressive to be that shit at ManU.

Hahaha oh.

Virtually none of that should effect the team to any major degree. He's doing far far worse than Ten Haag was. He's spent over 250m to lose to Grimsby. OT leaking has nothing to do with that. Amorim being incompetent does.

There's no chance he'd go there but does anyone think they'd be so utterly woeful if Unai was there. Or Howe. Or pretty much anyone else.

I dunno, Man Utd have tried many different managerial approaches Mourinhio, OGS, Van Gaal, Ten Haag and Amorim. All have failed. I don't think twisting and bringing in a new boss for a "refresh" will make much difference.

They were still winning trophies, they weren't finishing 15th, losing to a 4th tier side with the worst win ratio of any ManU manager since before WW2.

To give it some context, Sherwood had a higher win percentage with us than Amorim has at ManU.

It's a great stat, it's not true, but it's a great stat.
Sherwood won 10 in 28 (35.7%), Amorim 16 in 45 (36.4%). So it is close.

I went bbc. Either way the point is well made, his win rate is no better than Sherwood.

Transfermkt have him as 17 from 45 but I think they count the penalty knockouts as wins. Several of his wins has normally been fergie time wins as well when he has shoved Maguire up front and just launched balls at him and hoped.

Just to be clear I wasn't defending Amorim, he's been horrifically shit, I compared him to Gerrard yesterday and I think that's fair so I'm not a fan.

I just don't think they could find someone like Emery to come in and turn things around as thoroughly or as quickly as their fans and board demand, which is a problem that's not going away. At some point they're going to have to deal with all the other shit whilst also committing to a manager for a long run and accepting that it's going to take a while to fix.

Two or three hundred years, with any luck.
