Glad to see some sense on here, was beginning to doubt my judgement with words like ‘disgrace’ being banded about in the media regards the penalty.

The bloke played the ball intentionally with his arm, stopping a goal, it was a decent save and a clear penalty.

If he was able to react to a deflection and deliberately save it that quickly, he should be playing in goal. Watch it at normal speed not slow-motion. No chance does he have time to react and do that on purpose.

So he moved his body in the direction of the ball by accident?

He moved because he was putting his arm behind his back, and because he was following the initial trajectory of the ball before it deflected towards his by-his-side arm.

Premier League rules are that referees are supposed to make allowances when the ball deflects immediately prior to an alleged handball incident.

Having just looked at the incident, I can say two things.
1) it was definitely a penalty.
2) I'm glad it wasn't Pau or Matty Cash that gave it away.

the first rule of defending according to H&V

If an opposition player takes a shot at goal, the job of the defender is to try and move out the way of the balls trajectory in no way should he try and block it or move towards it fuck me no, it might hit his arm and it’ll be a penalty even if the arm is in no way protruding, it would obviously be a lot better if the main defenders had no arms

honestly, my balls are rolling down the street I’ve laughed so hard at some of your explanations

Thought I’d already mistaken H&V for the Edinburgh fringe

So he moved his body in the direction of the ball by accident?

Not sure Tarlowski has the agility of Keanu Reeves, or his stunt double, in the matrix to flip completely out of the way of the ball. I can see Mings doing the same for us (Konsa and Torres wouldn't) and being applauded on here for doing it.
