I've said before, Spartak were unbelievable at VP, better than Juventus were.

April 1993 they put a big screen on the pitch when we played Blackburn away midweek. We were 2nd with 3 games to go and still in with a chance of catching Man U with 3 games to go. We lost 3-0.

We also had a screen for Banik Ostrava away. It went off and when it came back on we were losing, and there was lots of moaning and talk of refunds. Eventually won 2-1 and everybody forgot about the glitches and left happy.

I remember watching an FA Cup game against Sandwell in the Leisure Centre back in the day.

Yes 1990. Mountfield and Daley scored in a 2-0 win and Sid Cowans produced a performance which should have sealed a plane ticket to Italia 90.

Was this the start of you becoming a moaning git? 🤔

Tony Daley destroying Brian Talbot?

I think it was Stacey North.

They screened a Luton away game at the Leisure Centre during the away fan ban  i recall.

Which reminds me, Sangwell played Swansea in the play offs God knows how many years ago. They restricted the away allocation so the match was screened at the NIA the day after a run of ice shows finished so the rink stayed in place with the sparrow badge on the ice as a nod to the fans.

The only way to remove a temporary ice rink is to smash the ice up, shovel it into wheelbarrows and dump it outside to melt. I knew a couple of agency staff who really enjoyed doing that the next day....

Bloody hard work though, I would imagine.
